Screen printed "thanks" cards
Roles: hand lettering, split fountain screen printing
I love sending thank you cards in the mail. What I don't love, though, is having to buy impersonal, generic thank you cards in bulk. That's why I made my own! First, I hand lettered the "thanks" on the card to look dynamic, and show a lot of movement. Then, I burned a silk screen with the finished design. Finally, I used a split fountain technique to fade the color from top to bottom. In one version it blends from fluorescent pink to peacock blue, creating a really great half-fluorescent purple shade in the middle. In the other version it blends from metallic gold to a muted blue, creating a beautiful half-metallic green in the middle. What resulted was a thank you card I love to send whenever possible.
